Keephills 3 Generating Facility
- The 495-megawatt Keephills 3 Generating Facility, jointly owned by Capital Power and TransAlta, uses supercritical boiler technology, which features higher boiler temperatures and pressures and a high-efficiency steam turbine.
- The boiler scope of work for insulation and lagging included 70,000 sf of surface area. The turbine was insulated with a combination of packed loose fiber mineral wool and removable covers.
- The ducting scope of work for insulation and lagging included 120,000 sf of surface area. Total lineal feet of insulated pipe: boiler side: 31,350 LF and turbine side: 23,620 LF.
- The equipment scope of work for insulation and lagging included 10,800 sf of surface area.
